Cool tie, and a clear eye for tying to tippet. Nice work.

Looking forward,
Andy

Thanks Andy!
I must confess though that this fly is among the first half dozen I've tied in size # 32. Last winter I tied a batch of Jassids on the Partridge K1A Vince Marinaro Midge Fly Hooks. Two dozen of each size from # 20 - 28.
Have fun,
M.O.

Nice flies, I strive to get such clean ties in those small sizes. Still only comfortable down to 24 or so. I saw you like the spring style scissors. There is a modified version called the "sixth finger scissor" with a finger loop that I have. I love mine and thought you might like to know about them if you haven't seen them before. Thanks for the blog, I enjoyed your flies and fish.

Thanks Kigen!
I'm glad that you like the flies and we really have lots of magnificent trouts here. It's a funny thing about fly fishers around here. They almost always have to travel very far to fish. It's like they think that there are - for example - no trout worthy to fish for where they live. In the river that runs through Bollnäs (Ljusnan) at only a distance of 10 minutes with a car from my home, I've taken my biggest trouts. It's about to get to know the water. It's the same with stillwaters. The last pictures from my family outing are taken at a little lake 30-40 minutes drive from my home.
When it comes to scissors one of my best scissors is an early "prototype", if I may say so, to the "sixth finger scissor" you mention. I used it a lot in the 80'ties. It's still around as the Anvil Ice Scissor. My preference is a professional razor blade many times, but when a necessity arrives I use the small spring scissor. It's made for eye surgery really, but it's perfect giving you the possibility to make your flies, in the tiny size, as perfect as possible. Thanks for your comment!
Have fun,
M.O.

Hi Kigen!
Forgot to mention that I was about to by a "sixth finger" but opted for the spring scissor in the picture. I also have a confession to make: I use what they call "cheaters" to help me get the small flies neat. For me it's one with light built into it. A magnificent invention to help us older guys to keep in action.
Have a lot of fun your way,
M.O.
