My Favourite Fly Fishing Hot Spots - Part Two

A Hot Spot In Ljusnan Near Bollnäs

As seen on the last picture it's easy to walk out on a low cement foundation found here. Upstreams as seen in the first picture large brown trout takes their stand in late august when small baetis nymphs start drifting just when it gets dark in the evening. They are very easily spooked and it's hard to catch them since they most certainly will try to pass over the cement foundation (there is a hole in it a bit out from the land). The black drake hatches here and during that time the only thing that I've foud to work are big dry flies. But in august a big dry fly with a pheasant tail dropper can give quite unexpected experiences. More on that later on.

Have fun fly fishing wherever you are,

Looks like a fun spot to get stealthy. Standing out in the middle after sunset must be fun!

It sure is, and the anticipation of getting a wild 3-5 pound brown trout hooked on a tiny baetis nymph really accelerates the adrenaline flow into your system. THAT really gives a rush that you'll newer forget! I don't even though I never got a good look at the fish since it was pitch dark that night so many years ago.

Have fun fly fishing in lovely streams,

Hi Alan!

Thanks for your comment and come and fish my top hot spots. I can tell you where and when to get the biggest (they tend to take up the best spots) trout or grayling and maybe with what fly. Had a funny moment with a tiny brook trout this friday. I only know of a few places they can be found around here since they aren't naturally present in the streams around here.

Have fun fly fishing,
